MADELEINE BIBIAN HOGUE (nee VAILLANCOURT) On October 21, 2006, Madeleine Hogue, 90, passed away. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1970, and her daughter Lorraine in 1934. She is survived by her children, Moe (Helen), Don, Len (Mary-Ellen) and Jackie Corrigan (Neill); as well as grandchildren Ron (Lise), Cathy (Craig), Sharlene (Keith), Jason, Trevor (Shauna), Derek, Terry and Danny (Sara), and six great-grandchildren Chantal, Paul, Bryce, Maria, Aiyanna, and Amy (plus one on the way). She will be fondly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law Louisa and Bill Dawyduk, sisters-in-law Louise Hogue and Emma Hogue, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Madeleine was born in 1916 in Trois Rivieres, Quebec to George Vaillancourt and Marie Anne Girard. She was the youngest, and now all of her siblings have passed away: Louise, Marie, Marguerite, Lucille, Leon, Maurice, Therese, and Paul. At a very young age, she came to western Canada with her parents, eventually moving to La Salle, Manitoba where she met Thomas Hogue. They were married in 1933. Mom was devoted to her family and took great pride in her little house on Marjorie Street with the white picket fence that Dad built. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. For the last several years she was a resident of Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts, and more recently, Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home. As she had throughout her life, Mom met her latest challenges with a great deal of strength, grace, dignity and unfailing humour. Cremation has taken place, and a Mass of celebration will be held at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 271 Hampton St. at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, Mom's favourite charity. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
