LEONARD WILLIAM BOLLMAN August 13, 1920 April 27, 2007 Peacefully, at home, after a lengthy illness, Leonard William Bollman was ushered into the waiting arms of his Lord and Saviour. Left to mourn his departure is his loving wife of 62 years, Ellen and their sons, Ken (Rose), Ron (Bernadette), Brian (Janet) and Wayne (Sharie); grandchildren, Kevin, Corey, Kristen, Karine, Stephanie, Rachel, Scott and Michael and great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Emily, Nicole, Riley, Jakob and Levi. Len is also survived by two brothers: Frank (June) and Bert (Georgina). Dad was raised in a farm community close to Rivers, Manitoba where at an early age he took a hands-on interest in mechanics. Upon enlisting with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Dad was assigned to repair aircraft as an airframe mechanic during the Second World War. That experience led him to a 40-year career in the automotive industry. His knowledge of automobiles and trucks was truly amazing. After retirement in 1985, Dad and Mom enjoyed many years of travelling to places in Europe, the Middle East and through out North America. Dad did not have much time to sit around during his retirement years however, as he kept busy helping friends and neighbours with various home repairs and often lent a helping hand to Brian at Western Marble. Dad always had time for his four sons whom he loved deeply. Dad and Mom were married at Calvary Temple on February 10, 1945 and have been members of that congregation for close to 60 years. Dad made many close friends at the church where he served faithfully as an usher for over 25 years. During the past few years, Dad had frequent visits to the St. Boniface Hospital. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Brunt and the staff of the hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your own choice. Funeral service honouring Leonard Bollman will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Temple Main Sanctuary. A private family burial will take place following. To depart is to be with Christ, which is far better Phil 1:23 THOMSON IN THE PARK Funeral Home Cemetery 1291 McGillivray Blvd. 925-1120 www.thomsoninthepark.com
