IRENE BOND Irene Bond (nee Serr), loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend passed away bravely and with the greatest dignity on April 29, 2007. Irene was unwavering in demonstrating and graciously sharing her remarkable values of love, family and friendship to all those fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oshawa Golf Club, 160 Alexandra Street, Oshawa, Ontario, L1G 2C4. Irene's wish is for people to consider donations to The Oshawa Hospital/Durham Region Cancer Centre in lieu of flowers. It is also Irene's wish for people to create better awareness and understanding of lung cancer in the hopes of providing relief to others.

Oh Irene. My dear friend. From late junior high to grad....we had so much fun and those times together before you moved to Ontario. We lost touch but I still thought of you. How odd that I would marry a German from the same town where your brother Peter was born and your father and my husband's father were from the same village in Romania. Still it was our time together I shall always cherish. I am sorry we drifted apart. You and Ken have beautiful children ...I saw their pics on Facebook...I see you in them and know you were an amazing Mom and wife. How could you not...because you were an amazing woman.
