WILLIAM (BILL) KRAWETZ Peacefully, on Saturday, May 12, 2007 passed away at the age of 70 at the Riverside Health Centre after a seven year battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 46 years, Renee, his son Curtiss of Toronto, daughters Christine, Michelle (Keith) McTaggart, granddaughter Courtney all of Winnipeg and brother Paul Crawford of Victoria, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Annie Krawetz and his sister Stella Raynor. Bill grew up in Winnipeg, and was a graduate of the University of Winnipeg with a B.A. in Business Administration. He was a long time employee of Manitoba Telephone System concluding his career there as Public Relations Director, a position he held for five years. After retirement Bill assisted in his wife's Old World Antiques business, both in the shop and doing shows in Malls around Winnipeg. A man of many talents, Bill was an able carpenter, furniture finisher and restorer. Bill enjoyed theatre work performing on stage in productions with Manitoba Theatre Centre, Rainbow Stage and T.V. Bill and Renee spent their summers at their cottage at Ingolf and their winters at Cape Coral in Florida, boating, fishing, water skiing and snorkeling. Bill was a fan of the movies, played guitar, sang, read extensively, worked on his computer buying and selling on E-Bay and enjoyed gourmet food and wines. His most recent hobby was building and flying his own model planes. A special thanks to everyone who assisted in his care. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow.
