Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS MOORE STEWART Peacefully on May 26, 2007, Douglas Moore Stewart, 82 years, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Katherine; his daughters, Lori (Paul) and Shelley (Bill); grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Brett and Leanne; and great-grandchildren, Brayden, and twins Faith and Noah. He was predeceased by his father Thomas in 1959; mother Olive in 1977; and brother Boyd in 1984. Doug served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and at the end of his service began his career with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. He retired after 30 years of service. Doug loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest in his healthier years. He played golf at every opportunity at the many courses around Winnipeg and was a member for many years at Transcona Golf and Country Club. A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Thursday, May 31 at 6:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will follow. The family would like to thank the fourth floor staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their excellent care of Doug in the last few months of his life.
