NESTOR BOHONOS January 30, 1930 - August 8, 2007 Nestor Bohonos beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Winnipeg, on Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at the age of 77 years. He leaves to mourn his loving family; his wife of 51 years Helena; sons, Peter of Winnipeg and Andrew, wife Jackie, grand-children, Nadia and Ryan of Sherwood Park, AB; sister Zena Bohonos of Winnipeg; brother John and his wife Roslyn of Edmonton; sister-in-law Helen of Lethbridge, AB; brother-in-law Alex Sarchuk (wife Terry); many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary, sisters, Helen and Olga, brothers, Myroslaw, William and Walter. A quiet-natured and gentle man, Nestor also had a droll sense of humour. He had an eclectic taste in music, enjoying all genres: classical, opera, religious, choral, jazz and even fusion. He was a long-time member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity where his rich bass voice could be heard in the cathedral choir every Sunday. For 25 years he also enjoyed singing with the Ukrainian Male Chorus conducted by his brother Walter, where he made many lifelong friends. Nestor was employed at Air Canada in the Data Processing department for a number of years and later worked as a Realtor. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Saranchuk, Stephen Saranchuk, Terry Chabluk, Paul Wowchuk, Walter Saranchuk and Paul Saranchuk. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Perich, Bill Solomon, Alex Sarchuk and John Bohonos. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CancerCare Canada or the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. We will miss his presence in our lives, but Nestor will be in our hearts forever.
