COLLEEN BOOTH On September 14, 2007, after a long illness, Colleen passed away peacefully with her children around her. Colleen was predeceased by husband, Gilbert Booth; brother Ernie O'Connor; parents, Thomas and May O'Connor, and nephews, Douglas Bidwell and Michael Hunnisett. She is survived by her children, Kevin and Sheryl (Gilmore) Booth of Okotoks, AB, Kathleen and Douglas Smith of Winnipeg, and Erin Maureen and Jurgen Feldschmid of Winnipeg, as well her siblings Pearl and Stanley Hunnisett of Ottawa, June Rush of Toronto, and Olive O'Connor of Kingston, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Nana will be missed by all of the cousins , Carly, Jessica, Emma and Cian Booth, Gillian and Glynnis Smith, and Michael and Annie Feldschmid, as well as her many, many friends and neighbors. Colleen was born and raised in Rosemount in Montreal, Quebec. She spent many happy years there with friends and family. In 1959, Colleen married Gilbert Booth and began her family, settling in Greenfield Park, Quebec, along with many family members, raising their kids together. In 1971, Colleen and Gil moved their family to Winnipeg, MB. Here she pursued her goal of university studies, achieving the degree of Master of Educational Psychology. She went on to a career helping people find their way in life. She was employed at the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities; St. Mary's Academy and ultimately ran her own office, Assiniboia Counseling Service. Colleen retired in 1995 to enjoy her grandchildren. She loved to spend time up at the lake (near Gimli) and in the back garden of her condo. She had recently connected, via email, with many of her old school chums now spread around the world. We will always cherish Mum's independence, spirit of adventure, and determination to tackle any obstacle no matter how challenging.
