LINDA EVELYN STEVENSON Linda Evelyn Stevenson passed away peacefully on October 19, 2007 at the age of 59. Linda was predeceased by her parents Robert and Lilian and her brother Jim. Linda leaves to remember and mourn her passing her son Stacy (Tracy), grandchildren Sage and Ashlin, as well as many dear family and friends. Linda was born October 2, 1948 in Transcona where she grew up. In 1994, she moved from Winnipeg to British Columbia. She always loved the ocean and the mountains, she called it home. Linda's pastimes included strolling outdoors, reading the latest paperback, enjoying a glass of wine, dabbling in the art of interior design, and simply relaxing with friends. Linda especially loved children. She was always thrilled to receive the latest pictures of her grandchildren. She would always follow-up with a phone call to hear the stories behind the pictures firsthand from Sage. She frequently babysat for friends and was known for always doting on the local children, giving them treats. No matter where Linda went she touched the lives of those she met. Regardless of her situation or health, she tried to help those in need. People turned to her because she always listened and provided a shoulder to cry on. Linda was thoughtful, considerate, and selfless. She would sacrifice herself for the betterment of others and was giving to the end. She touched many lives and will be sorely missed. Family and friends would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph's General Hospital in Comox, BC who cared for Linda and made her last few days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Linda's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 29 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Travel Lodge Winnipeg East on 20 Alpine Avenue.
