JOAO De DEUS BORGES After a courageous battle with cancer Joao Borges passed away on November 25, 2007 at the age of 57 with his wife, children and family by his side. Joao is survived by his wife Mariana, children, Carla and David, and grandson Dante; sister Solidade (Fernando) Pontes, sister-in-law Souhair Borges, Ursulina (Adriano), Ana (Jose), Helena (Manuel) of Acores, Alvaro (Teresa), Rui (Dolores) Altina, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Manuel Borges and Maria do Carmo de Medeiros and his brothers, Manuel and Paulo Borges, his father-in-law Jose Sousa, brother-in-law Jose Manuel Sousa. Prayers will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. North with Mass of Christian burial being celebrated on Friday, November 30, at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. José Eduardo Medeiros as celebrant. Entombment to follow at Assumption Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. Joao's pallbearers will be his beloved son and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses from Palliative care for their support, care, and compassion.
