Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFEIKJE (FREDA) BOSMA Peacefully, with her children at her side, Feikje Bosma (Wierda), age 92, passed away on the evening of Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Mom was born April 15, 1915 in Heeg, Friesland, The Netherlands. Mom and her eight children came to Winnipeg from The Netherlands in July, 1958 to join her husband who had immigrated to Canada three months earlier to prepare a new home for his wife and family. Mom and Dad were married on August 18, 1941 in Sneek, Friesland. Although they loved their Frisian heritage, their adventurous nature prevailed and they decided to immigrate to Canada in 1958. They enjoyed 10 years together in Canada and spent the summers camping and enjoying nature. Mom was a devoted wife and mother who cared greatly for, and tirelessly supported her children and grandchildren. Because of our Dad's early passing, Mom became the focus of our family life. Her inspiration, sacrifices and positive approach in life shaped our goals and was always a consideration in the events of our lives. Mom had a strong faith in God and was very active in her church where she participated in many activities. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir for many years. She also enjoyed gardening and crafts, and was actively doing knitting up until shortly before her passing. She will be lovingly remembered. Mom was predeceased by her husband Poppe (Peter) Bosma in January, 1968 and their infant daughter Jetske Antje in March, 1944. She is survived by her eight children, Douwe (Jessie), Gerben (Dorothy), Anne (Eddie Terwisscha), Alice (Gerrit Brink), Shirley (Alex Engbers), Harmen (Eileen), Romko (Grace), and Marinus; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Maaike and many nieces and nephews in The Netherlands. At this time, the family would like to thank the staff of Middllechurch Home of Winnipeg for their compassionate care and love given to our Mom. Viewing will be held at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on December 3, 2007 at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Ave. Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Tuininga officiating.
