BERTA BOSCH (nee TOBER) Born October 24, 1922 Berta Bosch passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007, at the Grace General Hospital. She was everybody's Oma Bosch. Her memory will lovingly live on through her husband Anton Toni Bosch, daughter Inge Schroeder, son-in-law Erich Schroeder. She also leaves her grandchildren: Steven Schroeder, Susan Widera, Sylvia McIsaac, Natalie Schroeder, Waldemar Widera and Jay McIsaac and great-grandchildren Sarah, Jacob and Trinity. Oma, being one of eight children, is also survived by her sister Johanna Muhl (Otto), sisters-in-law Elsa Tober and Waltraud Tober and many nieces and nephews. Oma will best be remembered by her strength, pride and grace. Her ability to overcome obstacles and tragedy was a true testament to her strength. After immigrating from Germany in 1957, she had humble beginnings as a hospital housekeeper. Her strong work ethic eventually led her to a career in the fashion industry. Her career afforded her the opportunity to travel and provided her with many stories to tell. She retired as quality control manager at Tan Jay and devoted her time and talents to gardening and growing roses and orchids. Oma was the centre and life force of the family. Most precious to her heart were her husband Toni and daughter Inge. Her grand and great-grandchildren were also a source of great pride and enjoyment. Oma was sure to tell everyone of the accomplishments of her family, taking pride in each and every one. She truly enjoyed times at the cottage with Toni, sewing clothes for her family, storytelling to her grand and great-grandchildren, and cooking meatballs for family gatherings. Oma's selflessness shone through her strong sense of community, always concerned for others and caring for her neighbours. A celebration of Berta's life will take place at St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive, on Friday, December 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St Boniface Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice are graciously accepted.
