Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ELRIE BONNER October 21, 1933 June 14, 2008 With heavy hearts, our family announces the sudden passing of Bob Bonner on June 14, 2008 at Shoal Lake/Strathclair Health Centre. He leaves to mourn his passing Alberta, his wife of 49 years; children, Kim Williams (Rob) of Australia, Brad Bonner (Judy) of Birtle and Les Bonner (Edith) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Rhys and Cadeyn Williams, Yvonne and Allyson Bonner, Jenni, Jay, Tenaya and Katie Bonner; sisters, Bernice Graham, Connie Ryan (Elmer), Millie Hansen (Alen); sisters-in-law, Muriel Mast, Florence Strachan (Harold), Pat Beech (Wilf) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Elrie and Josephine Bonner and Alberta's parents, William and Kathleen Musgrove; sister and husband, Peggy and Norman Dearle; sister-in-law and husband, Ellen and Frank Rosenberger; brothers-in-law, George Graham and Johnny Mast; nephew Robert Hansen and niece Bonnie Dearle. Bob was raised and educated in Birtle, MB, the youngest and only boy of five children. Bob married Alberta Musgrove of Decker, MB on October 18, 1958. They raised their family on the family farm in the Mount Joy District. Bob was active with his children and spent many winters coaching the boys' hockey in Birtle. He was a pig farmer but poor health plagued him and forced him to leave the farm in 1986. Alberta and Bob spent the next 16 years in Winnipeg as property managers for MPC Properties and WRE Property Development. In 2002, they retired to Burlington Beach near Shoal Lake, MB. Here, they spent happy years entertaining children and grandchildren through swimming lessons and many family get-togethers. Bob was a wonderful family man. His sense of humour and caring ways will be remembered by all from his stories of the past to his scooter adventures with neighbours. He kept active right until the end. His main concern and love was his family and friends. We feel a void without him. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and we are blessed to have so many years of happy memories to hold tight in our hearts. At Bob's request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
