SAUDAGAR SINGH BRAR Saudagar Singh Brar, 90, passed away peacefully December 1, 2008 at Victoria General Hospital. He lived a long and fulfilling life with his family, whom he was adored and respected deeply by. Mr. Brar was born October 28, 1918 in Punjab, India. He was the fifth of seven children. He served in the British Indian Army during the Second World War. In 1972, he retired after 30 years of active service. Saudagar is survived by his wife Jaswant Kaur Brar of 65 years marriage, and his two sons, Surinder S. Brar and wife Pirtpal K. Brar, Balwinder S. Brar and wife Jagjit K. Brar, and three grandchildren, Sony Brar and wife Opal Brar, Kiran Brar-Syal and husband Abeer Syal, Dilpreet Brar and wife Sharni Brar, and also four great-grandchildren, Kael and Nyla Brar, and Aryan and Nikhail Syal. His Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The Brar family requests that in lieu of flowers, a monetary gift be given which will aid in purchasing a memorial plaque in memory of Saudagar Brar at Seven Oaks General Hospital.
