ANNE HENDERSON BOLAND (MAXWELL) (nee MOIR) Peacefully in her sleep in the early morning on Saturday, March 21, 2009, after three battles with cancer, Anne's heart finally gave out. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years Bernard, her sons Robert and Andrew Maxwell and Francis Boland (Sue) of London, England, daughters Catherine Maxwell (Sandi) and Lisa Boland (Marcelo), her grandchildren Alexander, Jaiden and Brianna Taylor, her beloved bichon Siobhan and her many friends. Born in Glasgow, Scotland December 10, 1935, she trained as a registered nurse graduating from the Victoria Infirmary of Glasgow in 1955 where she continued to work until she married her first husband Ian Maxwell. They moved to Winnipeg in 1963 where they raised their children. They divorced in 1975. She later met Bernard Boland and they were married in 1979. In 1975 she began work at Grant Park High School as a teacher aid in the Special Ed department. In 1985 she returned to nursing. She stopped nursing in 1995 when she was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. Anne was a member of St Andrew's United Church and its choir for 45 years. She was also a founding member of the Joie de Vivre choir and a volunteer for CanSurmount. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Our thanks to Dr. Krepart and staff of the 5th floor at Women's hospital. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Friday, March 27 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's R.H. United Church, Oak St. at Kingsway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to St. Andrew's UC Music Foundation, The Winnipeg Humane Society or World Vision Canada.
