With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, my mother's soul mate of 60 years, grandfather and respected friend to many. He leaves to mourn his wife Alice; son Les (Gerrine); daughter Lorraine (Larry) Denbow; grandchildren, great- grandchildren; brother-in-law Harold; sisters- in-law, Irene and Ruth; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Dad was born on the family farm at Waldersee on January 21, 1917. He was a confirmed member of Christ Lutheran Church in Waldersee where he was a member his whole life. He farmed with his dad until 1943, when he joined the army. In 1945 he returned to the family farm and in 1948 he married Alice (Flatt). He was an avid sports fan and in earlier years he loved to play ball and bowl from which he has many trophies. Later years he enjoyed pool and socializing at the Plumas Drop In. Watching the Blue Jays was also a favourite pastime. He was a kind and generous person who gave more than he received. He enjoyed his family and looked forward to their visits. His faith was always and important part of his life.
