AUDREY GRACE PRIER (CAMPBELL)
Date of Passing: Jul 24, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY GRACE PRIER (CAMPBELL) Audrey Prier passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at the age of 91. She was surrounded by her family and full of anticipation for her great-niece's wedding. Audrey grew up on a farm in Bethany, MB, the eldest daughter of Jack and Elsie Campbell, with brothers Ross (Val), Jack (Helen) and her sister Gwen (Jack). The Campbell Clan are a large musical, fun-loving group who get together regularly for family celebrations and annual golf tournaments and curling bonspiels. As the matriarch of the family, Audrey will be missed greatly. Audrey married Warren Harry in 1945 and they had two daughters, Margaret and Catherine. After Warren's death she married her Royal Bank colleague Jack Prier. They were married for 52 years until Jack's death in December. Audrey and Jack had a great social life with their many friends. They were involved in Deer Lodge United Church for over 50 years. What is amazing to her family is Audrey's ability to continue to make new friends at Woodhaven Park Condominium and this year at Sturgeon Creek 11. Her daughters will miss their daily chats with their lovely Mum. Always a positive force in their lives and so fond of her sons-in-law Gerry Whetter and Ian Hugill. They would say they couldn't have asked for a more gracious mother-in-law. Audrey and her grandchildren had a relationship based on mutual admiration. She was proud of their academic accomplishments and loved them without judgement. They are Jay (Jennifer), Jon (Tracey), Ian (Lisa) Whetter, Andrea, David and Ali Hugill. The great-grandsons are Liam, Campbell and Jack. The family would like to donate a commemorative bench in Assiniboine Park in honour of Audrey and Jack. They've enjoyed the park for over 60 years. Contributions can be mailed to Margaret Whetter, Box 310, Hartney, MB R0M 0X0.
