Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORENA FRANCIS BOBOWSKI 1924 - 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Lorena Francis Bobowski (Berry) announces her passing on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Vancouver General Hospital. Born on February 27, 1924 in Brookside, Nova Scotia, Rena was 85 years young. Predeceased by her parents Ada and James Berry, husband Stanley Walter Bobowski, her brother Leon and sister Gwen, Rena will be lovingly remembered by her remaining siblings: Ron, John and Marge (George); her children: Joyce, Stan (Donna), Gail (Dan) and her grandchildren: Carrie, Carly, Jake and Hiro. Rena will also be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to have called her friend. Rena lived on the East Coast during her youth and spent most of her adult life in Winnipeg. She was active in Al-Anon for several years and attributes her ability to cope with Life's challenges to the teaching and support she received there. Rena was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #1 and for many years handled the Legion's Bingo games as part of the Women's Auxiliary. In her Golden Years, Rena moved to the West Coast taking up residence in Steveston Village in Richmond, British Columbia. There she became a member of Army, Navy, and Air Force - Veterans Association. Rena was cremated in Vancouver and her remains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, August 8, 2009. Those who so desire, may make Memorial Donations in memory of Rena to the Foundation / Society of your choice. To all who remember the twinkle in her eyes and her ever ready smile: Do not stand on my grave and weep, I am not there I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints in the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am a gentle Autumns rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. I am the birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. So do not stand on my grave and cry, I am not there....I did not die Mary E. Frye
