JANET BOYDA (nee RANICK) 1942 - 2009 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Janet Boyda on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the age of 67, after a courageous but short battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 41 years, Allan; her children, Charlene (Ross) Enns (granchildren Kyla and Alex), Jason (Diane) Boyda (grandson Dillon) and her brother Ken (Joan) Ranick. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Janet had a wonderful personality always looking on the bright side of things. She was a very vibrant, gentle, kind, warm person who had a great sense of humour. Spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys in life. Janet also loved golfing in her Monday morning ladies league and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. We are so grateful to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the compassionate and tender care they provided to both Janet and the family during her stay, especially Linda, Sheri and Dana who gave Mom such comfort and much laughter in her final weeks. The family would also like to thank the numerous and devoted friends, whose support and caring made the last number of weeks much easier. Cremation has taken place. Out of respect for Janet's wishes, a private family interment will be held at St. Vital Cemetery at a later date. We hope all who knew her will cherish the many wonderful memories you have of her. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 8th Floor, 409 Tache, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2H 2A6 can be made in memory of Janet. God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you and whispered, Come to Me. With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
