RETA OLIVE BOWES (nee DEVREEZE) January 18, 1918 - March 15, 2010 Peacefully on March 15, 2010, at the age of 92, Reta Bowes passed away, with her family at her side, at the Riverview Health Centre. Reta was predeceased by her loving husband Ken, parents Edna and Maurice, brother Raymond, sister Ella, brother-in-law Ted and sisters-in law Lillian and Ann. She will be dearly remembered by daughter Maureen and Don Stevenson and their children Daryll and Rhonda, son Jim and Denise Bowes and their children Dana, Tammy and Nicole, son Len and Margot Bowes and their children Melissa and Kevin, daughter Glenys and Bill Tedford and daughter Jennifer and great-grandchildren Ashley, Larissa, Dylan, Brynn and Arden as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many friends. Mom enjoyed a great life growing up in west end Winnipeg. She married Ken in 1939 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage while raising four children in their home on Cambridge Street. Mom worked at Zellers and Wallingford Press where she made many lifelong friends. In the late 1990s, Mom lived a very social life in Armadale Hollows where she met some of her closest friends. She enjoyed organizing many activities, games, and dinners that brought the tenants of the block together in friendship. Mom took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved sharing many old stories with family members and friends. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her wonderful sense of humour and her smile that was a gift that will live in our hearts forever. Honorary pallbearers will be Dana Bowes, Daryll Stevenson, Tammy Bowes, Melissa Bowes, Kevin Bowes, Jennifer Tedford and Nicole Kaminsky. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff on 3W at Riverview Health Centre for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to breast cancer research at CancerCare Manitoba, Room ON1160, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Mom, Nanny and Great-Nanny, we will love you forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
