Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARLEN SCOTT BOYD Arlen Scott Boyd passed away suddenly at his residence in Thompson, MB on March 11, 2010 after a difficult struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was the son of the late Calvin Boyd, formerly of Leaf Rapids, and Dawn Boyd of Winnipeg Beach. He was 33 years old. Arlen was born and raised in Leaf Rapids, where he graduated from the Leaf Rapids Educational Centre. He attended Red River Community College for his pre-employment training, then worked at Parkside Ford in Winnipeg for a time before going to work for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting at the Ruttan mine near Leaf Rapids. Arlen enjoyed a physically active lifestyle. His favourite pastimes mostly involved being outdoors. He could be found camping, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, or riding his motorcycle. He was handy with tools also. Arlen was predeceased by a brother, Shawn, on July 5, 1991, his father Calvin on March 17, 2002, and by all his grandparents. He is survived by his mother Dawn Boyd of Winnipeg Beach, MB (Wendell Loewen), his brother Ryan, sister-in-law Nina and nephew Ashton of Esterhazy, SK, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be fondly remembered by all of his friends and sadly missed by his home-care family in Thompson. A memorial service was held at Minnedosa Funeral Service, Minnedosa, MB on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Elgin Hall officiating. Interment was at the Boyd Cemetery in Bethany, MB with a lunch in the Bethany Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Arden can be made to the MS Society of Canada or a charity of your choice. Minnedosa Funeral Service, Minnedosa, was in care of arrangements.
