FRANCES BOTCHAR (nee ZABOWSKI) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Botchar, dearly beloved daughter, sister, wife and aunt, at Park Manor Personal Care Home on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Frances was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Katherine (Mazurkiewicz) Zabowski; husband Stanley; sisters, Mary (Wilgosh) and Pearl (Sedor/Lane); and brothers, Peter, John and Edward. Frances leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Florence (Bosko), as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Frances was born on August 30, 1929 in Pine Ridge, MB. As a young woman Frances worked at the Royal Alexander Hotel where she made many lifelong friends. Frances married Stanley in 1952 and they eventually moved into a house located on Pandora Avenue in Transcona where they lived together throughout their marriage. In 2001, Frances moved to the Park City Meadows Co-Op where she resided until March of this year, when she moved to Park Manor. Frances valued the time she spent with the people in her life, be they family or friends. She took great pride in her home and kept active over the years by crocheting, walking, listening to music, dancing, singing and playing cards with her family and many friends. Over the past few years, Frances especially cherished the time she spent at Pinawa with her sister Florence. Throughout her life, Frances displayed a constant faith in God, tremendous strength of character and dignity. Frances shall be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the exceptional staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for the wonderful care provided to Frances and for the care and compassion extended to family and friends throughout her final days. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations to the Park Manor Personal Care Home Inc. Capital Project would be greatly appreciated. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street with Pastor Bruce Logan of Calvary Temple officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery.
