BESSIE BOLTON February 18, 2011 Born Bessie Taylor May 6, 1916. Took elementary school at Rockwood, graduated Stonewall Collegiate October 19, 1934. Married to Harry Bolton January 1936. Born of this union two daughters. Harry passed away February 27, 1987 after 51 years of a very happy marriage. Bessie was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Dina Taylor: daughter Beverly and son-in-law Mervin Haas. Five brothers, Charles in 1915, Walter in 1942, Mancel in 1988, Bernard and Basil; sisters, Barbara Carter, Doris Metzak; brothers-in-law, Harry Metzak and Jack Winship; sister-in-law Jackie Taylor. Left to mourn their loss are Bessie's daughter Joan and husband Vern Verhaeghe; six grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Iona Winship of Winnipeg and Joyce Kenning of Winnipeg; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bessie spent most of her life around Stonewall, except for the 21 years the family were in Flin Flon, MB. Bessie worked 23 years as a certified nursing assistant first in Flin Flon General Hospital. Upon moving back to Stonewall she worked at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital. Her church was a very important part of her life and she was always a willing worker for her church. She spent many hours knitting and in her garden but her greatest joy was when she had her family with her. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Stonewall. Interment will take place in Stonewall Cemetery.
