SENATOR THE HONOURABLE GILDAS L. MOLGAT, CD January 25, 1927 - February 28, 2001 Ten years have now passed since the day the flags flew at half-mast in commemoration of your service and dedication to our country. It was an honour to see your passion, commitment and dedication to the people of your province and a privilege to have borne witness to the grace, dignity and humility with which you carried yourself in the fulfilment of your duties and responsibilities. And yet, beyond the roles and titles that you performed with such excellence there was the man that you were, now entrusted to the memories of those who knew you so well, and we feel not alone in the sentiment that there will never be another like you Senator Molgat and nor can there be, for your entire life was a sacrifice to the common good and the promotion of peace, harmony and co-operation among your fellow man. During the past ten years, not a day has gone by that you are not missed: whether as a husband and father, as Honourary Colonel of your Regiment, as Speaker and as Senator but what is more, comme un vrai homme modele, et bien ca, mon ami, nous donne grand occasion de commemorer ton passage dans la gloire.
