ANNE BRAUN After a lengthy illness, Anne Braun of Winnipeg passed away at Concordia Hospital on May 21, 2011. Anne was predeceased by her husband Cornelius in 1992. She is survived by five children, eight grandchildren, two sisters and a brother, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dearest friend of 67 years. Anne lived in North Kildonan for most of her life where she was a valued member of her community. For 25 years she operated a private nursery school simply called Mrs. Braun's Nursery School in the basement of the North Kildonan Mennonite Church. In that time she touched the lives of over 1700 little ones. Late in life Anne took part in many activities, all of them of an artistic nature. She wrote poetry, played both the violin and viola and painted, mostly in oil. Anne was always ready for a joke and was never at a loss for something to say. She will be deeply missed. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church with viewing prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mennonite Central Committee or another charity of choice.
