I was a callow 19-year old 'gopher'for Michel and his mill worker brethern at the Shell Oil Refinery in St. Boniface for a nine-month contract during and after a plant maintenance shut-down. I learned a lot from Michel about having the right tools for the job, the necessity of a sense of humour and a little about a union work environment but not so much about oil refining. I was honoured to be treated as 'one of the guys', in part I'm sure because of Michel's open-hearted acceptance. His laugh and characteristic phrases are still with me after all this time. - Posted by: Murray Speer (Co-worker) on: Feb 07, 2022

To paraphrase the Yeats poem... When we come to the end of time To Peter sitting in state He will smile on many old spirits but call Kiki first through the gate For the good are always the merry Save by an evil chance And the merry love to fiddle and the merry love to dance And when the folks there spy him they will all come up and say Here is our fiddler Kiki and dance like a wave of the sea - Posted by: Malcolm McLeod (fellow fiddler from the early days of ) on: Jun 08, 2012

It is with such great sadness in my heart that I heard of the passing of Kiki. Be assured that God is never closer to Kiki and your family during this time of inexplicable suffering and unanswered questions, than when all of you are experiencing an intense aloneness and pain. Know that God's love will envelope his body and soul with a peace, love, and comfort that will accompany Kiki to wherever his journey will end, and new adventure will begin.
