Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL HAROLD CONWAY July 29, 1915 - August 28, 2011 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Paul Harold Conway passed away at Bethania Personal Care Home on August 28, 2011 at the age of 96. Left to cherish his memory, Paul leaves behind his daughter Barbara Price and husband Doug; son Rod and wife Cyndi; and his grandchildren Jenilee, Daniel, Jared and Ashleigh. Paul was predeceased by his wife Catherine and was the last to join his parents, four brothers and five sisters. He was special to many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. Paul was born on July 29, 1915 in Vita, Manitoba. He grew up on the family farm with his siblings. He later worked and travelled around Western Canada, and was a veteran of the Second World War. During that time, he met Catherine Vera Dempsey, and they married and settled in Winnipeg. There he had an enjoyable career working for City of Winnipeg Transit, and as a Driving Examiner for the Motor Vehicle Branch of Manitoba. Paul was an avid sports fan, both participating and observing. He was a longtime golfer and curler at Rossmere Country Club. Paul was an accomplished woodworker, gardener, a smooth dancer, card player, and a Blue Jays fan to the last inning. As one of his hobbies in retirement, Paul restored a 1951 International half-ton truck which he rescued from a farm in Reston, Manitoba. Paul and Kay took great pleasure in attending the sporting activities of the grandchildren, graduations, and all the family celebrations. He will be missed but is always in our hearts, and the memories are forever. The family would like to give a special thank-you to Dr. Chris Loepp, who Paul thought the world of. Also the staff at Kildonan House and Bethania Personal Care Home who cared for him with compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Children's Wish Foundation of Manitoba. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street at 2:00 p.m. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
