Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELVIN BRADSHAW Peacefully, on Sunday, November 6, 2011, Melvin Bradshaw passed away. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Winnifred, his father Daniel, mother Hannah, brothers Morley (Dal) and Daniel, and sister Josephine. Mel is survived by his children Ross (Marlene), Jacqueline (Jorn) and Norma; grandchildren Andrea, Eric and Torben, brother Ernest (Brownie), and many nieces and nephews. Mel was born in Winnipeg, and moved to East St. Paul after his marriage to Winnifred which took place September 23, 1949. Mel and Win both loved curling, golfing, and square dancing which they enjoyed with family and friends. Mel could often be heard playing old time melodies on the piano with Win singing along by his side. Mel retired from M.T.S. in 1983 after working there for 38 years. In their retirement Mel and Win enjoyed wintering in Harlingen, Texas, where they made many good friends. In 1993, health issues kept him close to home. Thanks to the dedicated care and support of Win and his daughter Norma, he still enjoyed music, card games, crossword puzzles, and the company of his family and friends. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:30 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concordia Lions Club or Deer Lodge Hospital (where Dad greatly enjoyed the day programs); the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
