ANN BANACH It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Baba). She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Josie (Keith); son, Ted (Marie); grandchildren Brad (Nancy), Jan, Carol (Dave); great-grandchildren Alishia, Jacquelyn, Dominique, Trevor, Samantha, Cody, Aaron, Megan; sisters Rose, Elizabeth, Frances, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Tony; brother, Steve and sister, Jessie. Ann was born in Ledwyn on January 11, 1920. She married Tony Banach on January 24, 1937. She spent her entire life in Winnipeg where she raised her family along with working many years as a seamstress in a clothing factory. Mom was quiet and unassuming. Everyone knew she had a heart filled with gentleness, kindness, unconditional love and acceptance. She was totally committed to her family. Gardening was her delight as well as her cooking. She was a fabulous cook and used to have the family over for many meals, consisting of cabbage rolls, perogies, turkey, cheesecake, pies and her infamous pickled beets. Baba never mentioned of things being too difficult. She just persevered and stayed strong until the end. She will be missed forever. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff and all the Health Care Aides that made it possible for her to have a comfortable last few months at home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Polish National Cemetery on McIvor Street in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
