ESTHER (ESSIE) MALPAS April 23, 1911 - December 1, 2011 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mum, Gramma and Great Gramma at the age of 100 years and seven months. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow in the Eriksdale Cemetery. ESTHER (ESSIE) MALPAS April 23, 1911 December 1, 2011 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mum, gramma and great-gramma at the age of 100 years and seven months. Lovingly remembered by daughters, Doris (Art) Anderson and Maisie (Baldur) Johnson; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Smith of Vancouver, B.C.; brother, Allen Lawrence of Lac du Bonnet, MB; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Predeceased by husbands, Bill Seymour in 1954, and Frank Malpas in 1998; parents, James and Elizabeth Lizzie Lawrence; brother, David Lawrence; sister-in-laws, Edith and Irene; and brother-in-law, Sherdy Smith. Born in Coleraine, Ireland, she came to the Eriksdale area (Clydebank district) with family at the age of two. Residing in the area until 1999, she then chose to live in Winnipeg to be close to her family. She was always a willing worker in the community and United Church. Mum was a perfectionist when it came to her embroidery, hand quilting and crocheting. She loved gardening and enjoyed sharing the rewards of her labour with her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow in the Eriksdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family wish to thank the nurses and all the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre, 2nd Floor, for all the kindness shown during the last two years to Gramma as she was so affectionately called. We celebrate her life Mourn her death And remain grateful for her role in our lives And what she meant to each of us.
