WAYNE LEWIS Peacefully on December 3, 2011 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Wayne Lewis passed away at the age of 73 years. Wayne was born on November 13, 1938 to George and Lillian Lewis. He was predeceased by his elder brother, George Lewis Jr., and his younger sister, Gayle Stewart (nee Lewis). Wayne resided in Winnipeg all his life and had many interests and hobbies, including membership with the Winnipeg Radio Control Club and Manitoba Gun Dog Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at their cottage on West Hawk Lake. Wayne was employed with The Manitoba Telephone System and retired after 38 years of service, two of which were spent in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with Bell Canada International. Wayne will be lovingly missed by his wife Margaret; daughter, Lisa; son Donald (Christen); grandchildren Ian and Tyler; along with extended family and friends. The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care and kindness. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Glen Lawn Memorial Garden, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. In lieu of flowers, and if friends so desire, donations in Wayne's memory may benefit the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
