BERNICE ALIDA TAILLIEU (nee VANDENBERGHE) It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Bernice Taillieu on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Pinawa Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street. A longer obituary will follow in Saturday's edition. BERNICE ALIDA TAILLIEU (nee VANDENBERGHE) Our mother, a kind and gracious lady, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 7, 2011, three days before her 92nd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice and son James. She leaves to mourn and grieve, her daughter Maureen and Maurice Huot; son Edmond and Sharron Taillieu; her brother Hector and wife Georgina Vandenberghe; brother-in-law Wilfred DeGraves and wife Dianne. She will be sadly missed by granddaughter Christine Taillieu-Huot (Vanwijn), husband Benjamin Vanwijn and great-granddaughters Britney and Ashley Vanwijn; grandsons Edmond Huot, Maurice Taillieu; Marc and Heidi Taillieu and great-grandson Brycen; Stephen and Amy Taillieu and great-granddaughters Kaila, Mya and Emily; Scott Taillieu and partner Kate. Kelly and Allan Haugen and their children Kaitlyn and Ashley; Cyndee and Ron Evans and their children Ethan and Alyssa; nieces Mary Zillman, Evelyn Bourbonniere (Aurele); Marilyn Christianson (Lorne); nephews Wilfred Taillieu (Mavis) and Roger Taillieu (Georgia). Mom was a petite lady but, was the pillar of strength to her family. She was the driving force to the success of her husband Maurice, and the rock of stability to her children and grandchildren. Her laughing eyes, gentle voice, kindness and generosity were always there. She was the ever present calming strength in our lives. Pallbearers for Bernice's service will be grandsons: Edmond Huot, Maurice Taillieu, Marc Taillieu, Stephen Taillieu, Scott Taillieu and special friend of the family Dr. Al Tober. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. with Father Josè Montepeque and Father Martin Bradbury officiating. A private family interment will follow the funeral reception at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Dr. L. Cummings and receptionist, Lanka, Dr. Hannah and the amazing nurses and staff at Pinawa Hospital.
