Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGILBERT PETER BURTON Suddenly on December 7, 2011, at his residence in Winnipeg Beach, Gilbert Peter Burton aged 71 years passed away. Gilbert leaves to mourn wife Gloria, sons Jordan (Rebecca) and Corey; his daughters Patti (Roy) and Jody; his sons Kelly (Elizabeth), Phillip (Sylvia) and Clinton; numerous grandkids and great-grandkids; brothers Jimmy (Annita) and Donald; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Agnes and Peter, and brother Jackie. Gilbert enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Gilbert was a pilot for years and had his own flying company, Tailor Air Ways, in God's Lake Narrows. He later sold that and then opened Burton's Motel in God's Lake. Then retired and lived his last few years at Winnipeg Beach with his loving family. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. Cremation will follow and interment will take place at a later date in God's Lake Narrows. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan, Kelley and Craig Burton, Phillip Wood, Steven and Bob Ford. In lieu of flowers, trust accounts for Gilbert's children Jordan and Corey will be set up and donations can be given to Gloria. Gloria, Patti, Kelly and everybody please accept my condolences on the passing of your father, my friend. He really made life enjoyable for me while I lived in GLN with the fishing, hunting, flying and social times together. I really appreciated his friendship and all his stories. Gloria and family, You and Gilbert showed me nothing but caring friendship while I was living in Gods Narrows. You both always had time for me and kept an eye on me. I often think of you all and will never forget your kind hearts. Gilbert was a kind gentle man. I am so sorry for your loss, may your memories give you strength.
