ROSE EVANS (nee KELNER) After a brief illness, Rose passed away peacefully at the Gimli Community Health Centre on December 7, 2011, at the age of 94 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband Lew; son David and granddaughter Candice. Left to cherish her memory is her son Don (Valdine), grandchildren Dianne, Kristin, and Jeff (Lindsay), great-grandchildren Danalee, Jace, Carmen and Lyla; her daughter Penny Chisholm, grandchild Colleen and great-grandson Eden; as well as her only remaining sibling Victoria Driedger. Rose was a life time resident of Winnipeg Beach. While most of her life centered around caring for her family and home, she also worked. Many will remember Rose from her 20 years at McGregor's Drug Store in Winnipeg Beach. She was the go to person and her ever present smile and helpful nature was a warm greeting for all who came into the store. Rose's true passion was the love of her family and maintaining a home where warmth and happiness was in abundant supply. She was an artist and her canvas was her kitchen. She was most happy when preparing food for all who were there. When visitors left Nan's home, their bodies were nourished through the wonderful food and their souls were nourished through her welcoming and loving spirit. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the Winnipeg Beach United Church. Interment to be held at a later date in the presence of family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Rest in Peace Mum Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Sorry to hear of Rose's passing. My dad Dave Evans was Lew's brother. Though I hadn't been in contact for many years i thought of Rose, Penny and Don often. - Posted by: CharlotteJack (Neice) on: Dec 30, 2011
