THOMAS ALTHAM With the same dignity and gentleness with which he lived his life, Thomas Altham, at the age of 91, passed away on December 6, 2011 with his family by his side. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Mary and his partner of 22 years, Juan Alley. Left to mourn his passing are Tom and Mary's daughters, Linda (Jim), Tina (Marty), and granddaughter Leigh. Also left to mourn are Juan's children with whom he had a close and loving relationship, as well as many friends and relatives. Tom was born, grew up, and raised his family in Norwood. He and Juan spent most of his retirement years in Winnipeg and Florida, where for many years was able to continue, even in winter, one of his biggest passions, golf. For the past few years, Tom made his home at the River East Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff in Hope Haven, who helped in so many ways to bring that twinkle to his eyes and smile to his lips each and every day. To his daughters he was an inspiration of what a loving parent and husband is all about; always a quiet and gentle voice, always a steady hand to guide and support, and always showed us that we were loved with his whole heart. A memorial reception celebrating Tom's life will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
