THERESA THEVENOT-ALLEC (nee THEVENOT) 1959 - 2011 Peacefully, Theresa passed away after a long and valiant battle with cancer on the morning of December 12, 2011, surrounded by her family at her home in Morris, MB. Remaining to forever cherish her memory, are her husband, Leo; daughter, Courtney of Vancouver; sons, Nicholas and fiancée Shiva of Waterloo, ON, Matthew, and Benjamin. She leaves to mourn her parents, Paul and Ruth Thevenot; sisters, Julie-Ann (Jim) Purcha and Louise (Neal) Watkins; and brothers David (Michelle) and John (Kristine) Thevenot. She also leaves to mourn her in-laws, Claudette (Larry) Cormier, Lucille, Robert (Julia), Louis (Daphne), Denis (Joyce), Edith, Roger (Elliette), Jean, Suzanne (Romeo) Marchand, Ginette (Terry) Thiessen, and Raymond (Allyson). She will also be missed by her many loved nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marie Allec; nephew Jerry Cormier; and niece Roselynn Purcha. Born in Kirkland Lake, ON, and growing up in Somerset, she graduated from Red River College and trained at Misericordia Hospital as a lab technologist. She began her career in Churchill for one year, then back to Winnipeg where she married Leo and worked at the Misericordia. Moving to St. Claude, she worked for five years between the St. Claude, Treherne, and Notre Dame Hospitals. In 1986, her family moved to Morris where she worked at the Morris General Hospital and raised their four children. Through the years she left her mark, be it the numerous professional and community boards that she belonged to, the activities and hobbies she had, and the hospitals she worked at. Theresa was a very special and strong woman, who always strived for high standards for herself and for those around her, and treated everyone she met with respect, kindness, and a feeling of family. Taking life's obstacles in stride and with a positive outlook, she was always so thankful for family, friends, and neighbours that answered the call to arms when it came time to pull up sleeves and get things done through the years. Hopefully they will all know that all would be forever appreciated. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to family and friends for their love and support over the years, and gratitude for the home and health care support that she received. She will not be forgotten. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Catholic Church in St. Jean Baptiste, 153 Caron Street. Interment will be at the Morris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
