Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Reverend Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Entombment in Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley following the Mass. DARIO OTTAVIO BUCCINI February 10, 1923 December 22, 2011 Peacefully, on Thursday, December 22, 2011, Dario Buccini passed away at the age of 88 years at the Grace Hospital. Dario will be lovingly remembered by Anna, his wife of 65 years; his daughter, Isa Di Paolo and son-in-law, Tito; his granddaughter, Rita Di Paolo (Jeff). Also surviving him are his nephews, Domenico (Teresa) and Luigi (Ada) of Winnipeg; his sister, Nunziatina of Rome, Italy; and four sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews also in Italy. Thank you to all the relatives and friends that visited him. A special thank you to dear friends, Mario and Maria Caputi, for all their support. Dario was predeceased by his parents, Emidio and Maria Buccini, five brothers and two sisters. Dario was born on February 10, 1923, in Villalago, L'Aquila, Italy. Dario was very proud of his military service. His service began on September 2, 1942. He saw action in Tunisia and was captured on April 7, 1943, by the Americans and transferred to a camp in California where he remained for the rest of the war. After the war was over, he returned to his hometown in Italy on February 13, 1946. Dario left Italy for Canada on October 30, 1953, settling in Winnipeg on November 15, 1953. His wife and daughter later joined him on November 13, 1958. Dario's first job was in upholstery at Parkhill Furniture. Dario later became a master tile setter, eventually retiring from G L Tile. Dario had a great sense of humour, was the life of the party, and loved to play cards. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital 3 South. A special thanks to Doctors Joshua, Macek and Borrett, nurses, health care aides and housekeeping staff for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dario's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes or a charity of your choice.
