HELEN BRAUN Peacefully, on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the age of 98 years, Helen Braun, nee Schmidt, passed away at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris with her family at her side. Mom leaves behind her children and their families, Nick (Janet) Braun, Helen (Pete) Friesen, Harry (Susanne) Braun, Elvera (Hal) Nodsle, Ruth (Gordon) Coates, Charlotte (Mark) Burch and Leona (Leonard) Gerbrandt; daughters-in-law, Linda Braun and Sharon Braun; and son-in-law Henry Engbrecht. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas; her daughter Erna Engbrecht; sons, Ernie and Art; grandson Darren Nodsle; son-in-law Ken Klassen; as well as her parents, John and Sophie Schmidt, two brothers and three sisters, and three siblings in infancy. The funeral service will be held at the Morris Fellowship Chapel on Thursday, December 29 at 11:30 a.m. with viewing at the chapel prior to the service.   • My sympathies to all of you, my cousins, on the loss of your mom. I saw her at her residence in Morris just a few summers ago during a visit with my sisters. She was full of life and joy,and "painless" she said. I have such fond memories of her smile and laugh, and great baked goodies.
