BERT EMIL EMMS January 14, 1935 December 22, 2011 With heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of Bert Emil Emms beloved husband of Doreen Emms, his soul mate for the past 45 years. He leaves behind wife, Doreen, the love of his life; brothers, Alfred and Arthur; as well as many nieces, nephews, many friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents, father Alfred and mother Catherine; brothers, Donald, Eddie, David, Ernie, George; and sisters, Ida, Annie, May and Sadie; as well as other family members too numerous to mention. Bert loved life, hunting, musical festivals, family events. He was always thinking how he could help family and friends; he was our rock. Doreen and family wish to thank the staff at Gimli Hospital for all your care. Special thanks to family and friends who helped through Bert's illness and passing. Pallbearers are Colin Gale, William Gale, John Vaillancourt, Bob Kessler, Lyle Stasuik and Steven Emms. Funeral will take place December 28, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall, MB. Burial will take place at Stonewall Cemetery. No flowers please; donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Lunch will be served following the service at the Stonewall Legion.
