STANLEY (BODI) FORBISTER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband and father, Stanley (Bodi) Forbister, at the age of 74 on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB. Bodi is survived by his wife, Teresa, and son, Jeff; brother Les (Ethel); sister-in-law Joan; brother-in-law Harley; mother-in-law, Nora; sister-in-law Janice (Raynard); brother-in-law Jim; Sharon and Daryl and family; Dianne and Gregg and family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Gilbert and Mary; sisters, Myrtle (Glen), Ellinor (Ernest), Hazel, Marion; and brother Ben. Bodi was born March 13, 1937, and lived in Lundar, Manitoba, all of his life. He attended Swan Creek School and went on to work for Manitoba Conservation for 23 years. He also served as a volunteer ambulance attendant for several years in the RM of Coldwell. In his earlier years, Bodi loved to curl and participated in many bonspiels winning many trophies with fellow teammate Ernie and his rink. He was an avid golfer during the summer months and squeezed in as much ice fishing as he could during the curling season. Bodi was a talented carpenter who loved working in his garage building pretty much anything he felt like building. Also, he enjoyed spending time at the local Chicken Delight with the coffee crowd getting caught up on the latest gossip. The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and health care staff of the Lundar Personal Care Home for their kindness and caring of Bodi during his stay and to the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital for their excellent medical care and support. Special thank you to Dr. Burnet, Dr. Moawad and Dr. Arara for their care to Bodi over the years. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2011, at the Lundar Municipal Cemetery with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Everyone is welcome to join in a luncheon to follow in the Lundar Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lundar Personal Care Home Guild c/o Judy Gleich, PO Box 296, Lundar, MB, R0C 1Y0 or to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Teresa, Jeff and extended family, I have many vivid memories of Bodi from my years living in Lundar. Meeting up in the store and chatting, coffee at Dianne & Gregg's, curling, and so many more. He was the one I called when I needed someone to fix something around the house. I know it has been a struggle for him the last several years and he is now at rest. I also know that he will be terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Marlene Kuehl () on: Jan 03, 2012
