JESSIE QUESNEL (nee PRUCYK) In her 99th year, our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Jessie, died peacefully at Tuxedo Villa, in Winnipeg, MB, on January 7, 2012. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Napeleon (Tap), her youngest son Chris and all the members of her large family save her sister Celia (Prucyk) and Blanche (Williams) Mom attended Normal School and when little more than a girl, began her teaching career in such small isolated places as Loon Straits, Tolstoi, Poplar Park and Manigotogan to name a few. The last of her teaching years were spent at Prince Edward School in East Kildonan. She met her husband, Tap, during her time at Manigotogan. They had three sons: Jim (Mary Anne), Dan (Mary) and Chris (Bonnie), all of which enjoyed spending time at their retirement home in Manigotogan. Jessie found delight in her grandchildren: Andrea and Melanie (Jim and Mary Anne); Corey, Tammy and Jody (Chris and Bonnie); Danny, Jesse and Katherine (Dan and Mary). We all delighted in her sense of humour and the gifts from her golden hands. Perogies, cookies, hand sewn quilts, afghans, sweaters, etc. We extend our heartfelt thanks to her caregivers at the Rosewood and Tuxedo Villa, for their kindness, love and respect during Mom's last years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB, a reception will follow in the Royal Canadian Legion basement hall, 403 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba. Please don't sing Sad songs for me. Forget your grief and tears For I am in a perfect place Away from pain and tears I'm far away from hunger And hurt and want and pride I have a place in Heaven, With the Master by my side. My life on earth Was very good As earthly lives can go, But Paradise is so much more Than anyone can know My heart is filled With happiness, And sweet rejoicing too To walk with God Is perfect peace A joy forever new.
