JEAN MACDONALD Peacefully on January 10, 2012, Jean MacDonald passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, her parents William and May Lamerton along with her siblings. Jean is survived by her sisters-in-law Catherine Butler and Margaret MacDonald along with her nieces and nephews. Jean was born on Friday the 13th in September of 1929 at Dartford, Kent, England. After graduating from high school with Part 1 State Preliminary Examination of her nursing education, she took her nurse training at the University College Hospital in London. She then completed CMB Midwifery Training at the London Hospital in White Chapel and continued her profession at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen. In 1962, she embarked for Canada where she worked in Brockville, ON, Winnipeg General Hospital and later at Grand Forks, BC. Jean also took the Certified Dental Assistant Training while in British Columbia. It was in Grand Forks in 1963 that she met Bill MacDonald wherein they later married and purchased the old MacDonald homestead in the Bayton District of Moosehorn in the summer of 1983. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Ashern Legion Hall with L.I.C. Shirley Cranford officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Lunch to be served following the service with an interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Colin Brown, Philip Bauch, Gordon Meisner, Rodney Brown, Dorrie Kiesman and Ernie Kebel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
