Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUSIE KLASSEN 1910 - 2012 Shortly past noon on January 13, 2012 at Salem Home in Winkler, MB Susie Klassen slipped peacefully into the presence of her Lord. She was born to Abram F. and Helena (nee Wiebe) Klassen on August 29, 1910 near Horndean, MB. She received her education in the Rosenheim School District. As a teenager she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. In early spring, she asked for baptism, she was baptized in the creek (which still had ice in it) near the Grossweide Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1926, Susie and her family moved to Winkler and she became a faithful member of the Winkler M.B. Church, remaining so until her passing. Susie was a hard worker in whatever she undertook. Whether a paid position or volunteer service she did it without complaining. In the early years she worked in a number of homes doing whatever was needed. She also cooked at Winkler Bible School for several years along with her sister, Kathryn. For 11 years she worked at Bethel Hospital in Winkler, 10 of those as Head of Housekeeping, retiring in 1975. For many years she taught Sunday School and DVBS with Child Evangelism, she was a cook at Winkler Bible Camp and put in many hours at the MCC Centre. Susie will be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit, one who lived an exemplary life as a devoted follower of Christ. She was a faithful prayer warrior, diligent, loving and kind; a wonderful cook, baker and gardener, also a great story teller with a delightful sense of humour; generous, gracious and respectful, never complaining or finding fault with others. She was not tied to material things; people were always more important. She is survived by her dear sister, Mary P. B. Dyck. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and especially her caregivers, Walter and Donna Klassen and Richard and Barbara Klassen. She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters. Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of Susie's life on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., at Winkler M.B. Church, 120 Pineview Dr. Viewing will be prior to the service. Interment to follow at Winkler Cemetery. Special thanks to her faithful friend, Katy M. Dick. The family is grateful for the loving and sensitive care given to her at Salem Home since April 13, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susie's memory to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or Family Life Network. I attended Winkler Bible School when Susie was there with her sister Kathryn. What a duo they were. What a sense of humour and able to accept all the crazy things that students did. If only all of us could be like those two God wouldn't have so many problems with us. God comfort you all at this time in your lives. - Posted by: Jake Suderman (Stufent in Bible School) on: Jan 18, 2012

Hello, My name is Trish Jansen, I am the youngest child of John and Marjory Klassen. Aunt Susie's brother, John A W Klassen, was my wonderful grandpa. When I was a little girl, whenever I saw Aunt Susie she would give me candy or gum and a small paper book that were lessons from the bible. I still have some of those books today - at the age of 50 years. These small books have served me well as I have referred to them many times to remind me of the power and presence of God and how He helps us through all times in life. These small tokens showed how Aunt Susie's faith was with her every day of her life and how she ministered that faith to others. Thank you, Aunt Susie. With love, Trish - Posted by: Trish Jansen (Great Niece) on: Jan 18, 2012
