OLIVE CHOLOSKY January 16, 1924 - January 18, 2012 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olive Cholosky (nee Olson), at the age of 88 years, on January 18, 2012. After a lengthy illness, she leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 61 years, Bill. She was predeceased by her parents Kristine (Teenie) and Holman Olson, and beloved niece Marilyn and husband Dennis Little. She also leaves to mourn her brothers, Walter and Holman (Olivia), and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was proud to be of Icelandic heritage and was a devoted member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she participated in all aspects of the church from teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and playing the piano, to name a few. Olive belonged to the Icelandic League, Bruin Chapter, Selkirk since 1978. Her career with the Bank of Montreal started in 1941 at he age of 17 and lasted until her retirement in 1980. She was loved by staff and customers alike and will be fondly remembered by her many friends. In her earlier years she enjoyed entertaining family and friends with music, songs and a good cup of coffee. Bill wishes to thank the many home care workers, the doctors and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their care. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Olive's memory may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Selkirk or the Arthritis Society of Manitoba. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clandeboye Avenue, Selkirk, MB at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Dear Holman Very sorry to hear about Olive passing away. Sure remember a lot of good things with Olive and of course your family. Don't know if you remember or not that Olive bought Vicki's upright piano so many yrs ago.
