Miss Johnson was Dan's and my Gr.3 teacher. Very strict but fair. I cheated a few times in her class, and before I got baptized a few years later, I apologized to her. When we reconnected with her 5 years ago, she couldn't remember me, but she could remember that I apologized to her. We have had many wonderful times together and she always had a smile on her face when we bragged to those around what a great teacher she was. She gave us a vase that she had sculpted which we will always treasure. Her first name was Dorothy. - Posted by: Linda Kasdorf Klippenstein (student) on: Jan 30, 2012

I was one of the 1000s of students taught by Bernice. She taught me in grades 2,3 and 4. Although she ran a tight classroom, she was fair to her students and I have to say, she was one of my favorite teachers. - Posted by: Linda (Neufeld) Kwiatkowski (former student) on: Jan 24, 2012

Bernice was an important person in my life. All my life Bernice was there. Especially when my father passed away when I was 9, Bernice and Grandma paid a lot of attention to me and my brothers, as we all lived near Niverville and we could go to their house after school. I was lucky to have her in my life because I think that now the foundation of love is something that I carry with me and pass down to my children, who also knew Bernice. The picture provided is fitting because Bernice and Grandma really liked those dachshunds! We will always treasure the memory of Bernice's kindness, attention to education, and sense of humour.
