ELEANOR KEYZER (nee WACHTLER) With her children by her side, Mom passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on January 16, 2012. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Sandy (Ken), Debbie, and Doug (Koni), grandchildren Shaun, Kristyn, Teddy, Devon, Justin, and Pokey, and sister Irene (Ron). Mom was predeceased by her husband Eddie Spencer, Doug's father John Keyzer, sister Dorothy, and her dear cousin Jeannie. Mom was born in Winnipeg on May 4, 1932 to Nick and Katie Wachtler. Mom's greatest enjoyment in life was her family, her home, and her wide circle of friends. Her last years spent living at The Parkway were some of her happiest. She loved to travel and spent many summers at her second home in Penticton. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Victoria General Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. The Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, January 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at The Parkway, 85 Paget Street, off of the Sterling Lyon Parkway. • I recall Eleanor fondly as we attended the same schools, ie Faraday and Isaac Newton High. Eleanor's mother and mine were school chums as well. Am so glad that she has such a large family. I also recall her younger sister Irene as well. Both great girls. Also, Eleanor and her friend Jan socialized with us at the Cac's community club on Mountain and MacGregor in the north end of Winnipeg. What great fun we had in those days, outdoor ice skating and Friday night canteen dances. Those were the days. Til we meet again Eleanor.... - Posted by: joan gerus (nee heffel) (old school chums) on: Jan 21, 2012
