I met Robert back in the early 1970's on the CB Radio. I remember visiting Robert one time in HSC when he broke his leg in a snow mobile accident. Robert always enjoyed using the CB Radio and met many other people through this mode of communication. It is too bad that his time with us was cut short too soon. His many friends at Radio Canada DX Group found late of his demise. Robert - you will certainly leave a void in our lives. - Posted by: Theodore Geurds (Friend) on: May 12, 2012

I met Robert in the early 90s and we quickly became friends. He had such a wonderful personality. We shared many laughs and stories together over coffee. I eventually left Selkirk and as is often the case we lost contact with each other. Despite that I often thought of him. I'll always remember and cherish the memories. - Posted by: Len Kutchma (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2012

I met Robert in 1990, he was a awesome friend. Robert and I worked together at Assinniboia Downs as security guards. We had great shifts catching loose horses in the barns. Robert and I drank alot of coffees at Robin's Donuts on Main Street, laughing till the wee hours of the morning. I will miss him dearly, he was one of my best buddies and a brother. - Posted by: Garth Henry (Friend) on: Jan 31, 2012

I grew up next door to the West family on Robinson Ave in Selkirk. I have lots of great memories of playing with Robert as a kid and if it had not been for Roboo (nickname) I would not have met my husband of 33 years. Robert you will be sadly missed. I'm glad to have seen you a year ago. You were like a big brother to us when our owm brother passed. You will always be remembered buddy.
