FARIBORZ (FARI) ABASABADY Suddenly on January 10, 2012 at North Spirit Lake, ON, Fariborz (Fari) Abasabady, age 41 years of Lockport, died in a tragic accident. Fari was born in Kermanshah, Iran. He was the eldest son of six siblings with a brother and four sisters. Fari moved to the UK in 1991 to attend college. He gained a HND in electronics and computing in 1997 and while in college met his future wife, Charlotte. They were married in 2001. Fari went on to gain a bachelors degree in computer software engineering and worked in the university sector for several years. In 2004, they moved to Canada where Fari began to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. He gained his PPL in 2006, his CPL in 2008 and moved to Winnipeg Aviation for his instructor rating later that year. He remained there as an accomplished flight instructor for over two years, successfully mentoring over 40 new pilots into the skies. In 2011, Fari achieved his Multi-IFR rating from Perimeter Aviation and later became a captain with Keystone Air to fly the Piper Navajo Chieftain. His dream was to eventually fly their Beechcraft King Air. Fari was an exceptional person. He was multi-talented, loved cars and tools and had an eye for a good deal. Among his many passions, was his boy' Basil, a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier with whom he spent many hours walking in Birds Hill Park with Charlotte. He had an engaging sense of humour, was so kind and thoughtful, and was just the most wonderful person you could have met. He will be sorely missed. He awaits his best friend and wife, Charlotte, his boy' Basil, and his mother, siblings and extended family in Iran and the UK. He now walks alongside his father, grandparents and many friends. The family would like to thank all who have expressed condolences and support at this time. A celebration of Fari's life will be held at Little Britain United Church, 5879 Hwy. 9, Lockport on January 30 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in the Little Britain Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fari's memory to the Little Britain United Church. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
