Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED STEWART (nee MOFFATT) (formerly JOHNSON) 1922 - 2012 With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother on February 5, 2012 at Boundary Trails Health Centre at the age of 89 with family by her side. Mid was predeceased by husbands, Charles Johnson (1976) and Maxwell Stewart (1999); siblings, Amelia, Archie, Ida, Bink and Neil; son-in-law, Ron Brooks, infant grandson, Gregory Skubovius. Mid leaves to mourn daughters, Judy MacKinnon (Ken), Cheryl Campbell (Jim Garwood), Karen Fallis (Garry), Colleen Watts (Jim) and is survived by brother, Bob, sister, Geraldine and sister-in-law, Jean Moffatt. Grandma J will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Angela (Randy), Sean (Tania), Lisa, Nancy (Jason), Derek (Kim), Kendra (Dwayne), Jason (Crystal), Curtis (Sue), Andrea (Tom) and Johnson (Lesley), step-grandchildren, Don (Rose), Dwain, Vicki (Garry), Kevin (Lisa), 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also remembered by Max's children, Robert, Laurie, Murray, Donna and their families. Mom was born June 14, 1922 and raised in La Riviere, MB. After her marriage to Charlie in 1942, they farmed at Kaleida, moving to the Darlingford family farm in 1958. She led an active community life involved in 4-H, UCW, curling and the Legion Auxiliary, to name a few. Mid's many creative talents were evident in her paintings, poetry, gardens, sewing and em-broidery. After retiring as an MTS operator, Mid and Max enjoyed 22 winters as snowbirds in Mesa, AZ. Mom's lifelong commitment to others was nurtured through visits, letters and phone calls. After a full and rich life, a great and loving spirit is at rest. A memorial service will take place at St. Paul's United Church, 353 Thornhill Street, in Morden, MB on Wednesday, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church or a charity of your choice.
