JOHN GORDON TAYLOR Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Gordon, aged 76, beloved husband of Laura passed away at Selkirk General Hospital on Friday, February 3, 2012. Dad was born on January 18, 1936. He grew up in the Netley area and remained there until 2010 when he and mom moved to Mapleton Lane in Selkirk. Dad worked for the Public Works Department of the R.M. of St. Andrews for 34 years, retiring in January 2000. Dad enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and going to the casino. He especially enjoyed the Friday night get-together's with their friends at Mapleton Lane. Dad is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Laura; his daughter Denise (Don) Gariepy, and his son Ralph. Dad was so proud of his grandchildren Amanda, Michael and Matthew. He loved them dearly. Also mourning his loss are his sisters Verna (Alfie) Wallace, Audrey Veitch, sister-in-law Elsie Taylor as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Betty, brother Ross and brother-in-law David, as well as his mother and father-in-law and many sisters and brothers-in-law. At Dad's request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. We will celebrate Dad's life with a luncheon on Saturday, February 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Netley Community Club. All are welcome. The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Lindenschmidt, Dr. N.
