Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ROBERT CRONIN Peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 3, 2012, George Cronin, aged 81 years, passed away at his residence in Clandeboye, MB. George was born in Elphinstone, MB on September 23, 1930. He married Elsie Kirkness in 1953 and spent 51 years together. They resided briefly in Winnipeg and Petersfield before settling in Clandeboye when George established Clandeboye Garage in 1954. Together they raised their four children and George ran his business until retiring in 1992. George was very supportive of all local community events and helped start the Clandeboye Skating Club. His hobbies included camping, building new inventions, fishing, curling and moose hunting (which he did for 47 years). He greatly enjoyed the company of his German Shepherd dogs. George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsie, in 2005 and two brothers Jack and Brian. He leaves surviving his children, Randy, Toni (Edith), Linda Hause (Mel) and Pat; grandchildren Candice, Kim and Brandy; great-grandchild Emille; two sisters Marjorie McGuire and Lillian Michon, and numerous nieces and nephews. He greatly appreciated the visits and acts of kindness from all his special friends. At George's request cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A family graveside service will be held later at St. Anne's Church yard in Petersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

To the Cronin family - I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father and grandfather. I remember George so well working in his garage in our little town.
